They operate through a board of directors who are chosen every other year by the members of the Union County Home Builders Association and are unsalaried.
The Union County Home Builders Association offers it's members benefits such as discounted insurance rates for their employees so this will help lessen the burdens on the contractors and subcontractors who already have a hard time with making ends meet and don't want to have to fire or cut back on their laborers.
Educational materials are another one of the many benefits the Union County HBA provides to its members for their employees. This helps to keep everyone up to date on what is going on around the country in terms of the latest or newest way to perform certain construction related jobs or what is now considered to be the correct way to do things according to the Federal Commission on Construction usage. Helping keep everyone up to date and on the same page is a great benefit for the members of the Union County HBA.
In addition to the educational materials, there are seminars and classes presented at no cost or low cost to help keep everyone up to date on the latest trends and ways of doing things such as concrete restorations or building codes for low-lying buildings. These are a valuable resources and the Union County Home Builders Association urges all its members to join at least one seminar a quarter or year because it's worth the price of the dues alone.
Many of the members of the Union County HBA strive to showcase one or more of their homes in the showcase of homes presented each fall by the UCHBA. It's held in various neighborhoods and allows for the community to see the excellent work of the many UCHBA members and their staff. There is a best in show at the end of the viewing and the winner receives a nice plaque and crystal trophy to display in their office or at one of their display homes.
Dues to the Union County Home Builders Association also go towards a holiday banquet where everyone gets to meet one another and exchange information and make new contacts for materials and other things they may have been looking for, including lenders. Spouses are usually invited and it's a dressy, special affair that everyone looks forward to. There are also two golf tournaments that bring out nearly everyone in the UCHBA group and they play for charities, usually Habitat for Humanities of which the UCHBA is a big supporter of.
Part of your dues go to the full time staff that answers the phones, takes information, helps connect you with people who can help you with a plumbing problem or other such problems you might not have anyone to fix. The networking in this group is the best and also worth the minimal amount of the dues you pay each year.
